After 27 years in corporate America, I saw my share of mission statements supporting a variety of things. Business plans…strategic initiatives…employee retreats. I always found the whole mission thing fascinating. Smart people would debate at length what the mission should say…craft the words tirelessly and some up with something that really got to very heart of the matter. Then, the mission statement would be filed away never to see the light of day!
I sat down at my computer this morning that started thinking about my next post. Perhaps some useful information on aging? Something clever to bring a smile to someone’s face? Then I thought about the essence the career I have chosen to pursue…why I make posts on the BLOG or on Facebook. Does anyone that takes the time to read this stuff even know what Caring Companions is all about? Probably not. So, here it is…dusted off..our mission statement for all to see. Might this be a watershed moment for everyone to dig up that all important mission actually share it?! Probably not, but at least you will understand us a little better. Happy reading!
“Make a difference
Do the right thing; a statement we’ve all heard and a simple concept, yet one with a world of extensions that can help us stay on track in everything we do. Regardless of the task at hand we all have the opportunity to apply that lens and make the world a better place.
In the case of Caring Companions of Atlanta, doing the right thing, relates to caring for clients that need assistance with their daily living…usually seniors. We endeavor to serve our clients (and our teammates) by being aware of the qualities that make each a unique individual, embracing them as family, treating them with dignity, compassion and respect, and by always putting their needs first. In doing so, Caring Companions will not only do the right thing, but also will make a sincere difference in the people we serve.
Do the right thing…a simple, yet robust concept we strive to weave in to everything we do.”
